Sometimes things just do not go your way. Despite having both Dak Prescott and Aaron Jones in last weeks line up a disappointing day for the “budget” selections meant a cash free Sunday for the first time this season. Lets put that right in week 3.
QB – Kyler Murray, $6,800 – After being torched for 42 points by the Packers last week the Lions draw another tough matchup here with Kyler Murray. He has taken his game to a new level this season and with his increased rush floor he looks like a regular play in this format. 158 yards rushing and 3 TD’s so far on the year would be numbers to be satisfied with from your RB2 in standard fantasy.
RB – Jerick McKinnon $4,900- McKinnon is in line for a big uptick in workload this week with both Mostert and Coleman sidelined. A favourable match up against a poor Giants team should mean the 49ers can lean on the run game and with a change of QB can also use dink and dunk passing to get the backs involved also. A potentially huge value pick as Mostert and Coleman were priced up before the injuries hit.
RB – Kareem Hunt $6,100 – Yes he is in a time share with Nick Chubb but even so Hunt is putting up stellar numbers of his own. Averaging 18.1 pts per game Hunt will look to repeat the formula of Chubb taking the early work, allowing him to come in fresh in the 4th quarter and take over. The Washington strength is the pass rush so expect plenty of the formidable Browns rushing attack on Sunday.
WR – DeAndre Hopkins – Same strategy as last week, stacking the number 1 receiver alongside the quarterback. Hopkins has seen 25 targets in his first 2 Cardinals games and has hauled in 22 of them. He has nearly half of the Cardinals air yards and got his first touchdown of the season last week. Enough positives? Start him!

WR – Tyler Lockett $6,400 – The Seahawks passing game has been on fire through 2 weeks and I envisage another high scoring affair here. It was a toss up between Lockett and Metcalf but I’ve gone with Tyler as he gets more of the underneath work and with the Cowboys depleted at linebacker he could be in for a nice day target wise. He feels a safer bet as opposed to the “big play” pay off for DK, although both may well come true.
WR – CeeDee Lamb $5,400 – If the game does indeed become a bit of a shootout then that means Dak will himself be airing it out. CeeDee Lamb is off to a nice start in Dallas and hauled in 6 of 9 targets for 106 yards in last week’s thriller, including the crucial snag on the game winning drive. The Seahawks D has allowed 3 different receivers to top 9 catches and 110 yards so it is again a favourable match up.
TE – Drew Sample, $3,500 – I gambled at tight end last week to no avail, so let’s try again. This week its the Bengals new starting tight end Drew Sample. He had 7 receptions against the Browns last week and with CJ Uzomah done for the year will now get a chance to cement himself in the lineup. The match up is again a nice one with the Eagles giving up the 3rd highest amount of fantasy points to tight ends. Tyler Higbee had 3 touchdowns against them last week so hopefully Sample can go even some way to a repeat performance.
FLEX – Dallas Goedert $4,900 – I’ve gone tight end crazy! Ertz and Goedert are about as safe as a pair of starting tight ends that you can rely on in DFS. They are practically always on the field and both are target hogs. It’s often a case of picking the right one to find the end zone. Both had quiet outings last week so I’m banking on a bounceback.
DST – Cleveland Browns $3,800 – It seems wrong to spend so much on defence but with Washington’s porous offensive line and the Browns defensive front I’m going for a sack fest. The Browns also welcome back 3 starters to the linebackers and secondary and obviously have a favourable opponent. Home pick, I know!
Good luck if you are playing in week number 3. Catch me tomorrow on the Full10 Yards NFL podcast where we will be reviewing all of the action.
