Shaun’s Selections

With a couple of postponements on the schedule are the some real value picks to be had in week 5? Lets delve in to my week 5 lineup to hopefully point you in the right direction for your own squad.

QB – Patrick Mahomes, $7,700 – Mahomes was quiet by his standards against the Patriots but still managed to a couple of scores en route to another 20 point plus outing. He doesn’t have quiet games back to back however and the last time these teams met, he lit the Raiders up. Expect more of the same again with a 3-5 touchdown day the minimum expectation.

RB – Kareem Hunt, $6,500- The man who is in line to profit most from Nick Chubb hitting IR is of course Kareem Hunt. Yes on paper this is a tougher assignment for the Browns run game but they haven’t been stopped by anyone so far this season. With Darius Leonard already ruled out and the other starting linebackers both questionable I fancy Hunt to have a big day and probably snag his seemingly compulsory 2 touchdowns en route.

RB – Todd Gurley, $5,700 – Gurley had his most productive fantasy afternoon last week bagging 2 touchdowns against the Packers on Monday night. He draws the match up here against Carolina who are 31st ranked in terms of giving up fantasy points to opposing backs. We know Atlanta play plenty of shootouts so fingers crossed for plenty of points and opportunities for Gurley to continue his streak.

WR – Darius Slayton, $4,800 Another man that should get some opportunities this week is Darius Slayton as the Giants take on the Cowboys. The Cowboys defence is horrible and as much as I expect a Dallas win, I also imagine them shipping a fair few points. Slayton along with Evan Engram continue to be the favourite targets of Daniel Jones and he will be keen to find the end zone for the first time since Week 1.

WR – Will Fuller, $6,600 – Fuller eclipsed 100 yards receiving with a score last week and nearly caught another to keep the Texans in the game. With Bill O’Brien now out of the door Houston has no option but to start winning if they have any thoughts of getting remotely near playoff contention. The match up here is a good one as the Jags defence just gave up 300 passing yards to the Bengals a week ago. Fuller is always either red hot or ice cold so lets hope its a good day to be on his side.

WR – Robby Anderson, $5,900 – Robby Anderson looks like a different player following his move to Carolina. He is arguably playing at a pro bowl level with 28 grabs for 377 yards so far through a quarter of the season. The Atlanta defence, ranked 31st against the pass, is on the schedule this week so expect that hot streak of form to continue. He is averaging 19.7 draftkings points per game on the season.

TE – George Kittle, $6,600 – Its very unlikely that we see another 15 catch performance from Kittle, but make no doubt about it, he is the primary weapon in this offence. With Jimmy G back in the lineup expect Kittle to continue to see the bulk of the targets against the Dolphins.

FLEX – Isaiah Ford (WR), $3,500- Not a lot of money left for the FLEX spot this week so I take a chance on a Dolphins receiver who is sneakily climbing his way up the depth chart. It was only a modest stat line of 4 catches for 47 yards last week. However, he did see 10 targets, and may well have surpassed Preston Williams for the number 2 spot in South Florida.

DST – Cleveland Browns, $2,700 – The Browns lead the league in turnovers and get to play interception prone Phillip Rivers. Myles Garrett leads the league in sacks and gets to go against the backup left tackle for the Colts. The Colts don’t score many points, so sign me up for a big day for the Cleveland D.

Good luck if you are playing in week number 5. Catch me tomorrow on the Full10 Yards NFL podcast where we will be reviewing all of the action.
